  • Vray 3.0 Matte Properties and Reflection

I have been messing with this for awhile now and it doesn't seem to work the same as the last version of Vray.

I have Matte Object checked, Matte refl/refr checked alpha -1. Shadows and affect alpha both checked.

I am not getting any reflection in my matte object. Is there a bug?

I also tried using vraymtlwrapper but it is not rendering all of the reflection only parts and it is really noisy. I have attached an image of that.

I have the exact same problem. Worked fine in vray 2 in the same file. Cant figgure it out. Using the material wrapper. Going back to 2 just to render this out.

Hopefully we get an answer from somebody because most of my images are all on a pure white background and I need the Matte properties to work correctly.

I think I might go back to 2 as well.

There are some issues with matte-properties in version 3.x
We are working on that regard, hopefully the fix will come out soon.

We are sorry about that inconvenience.

It requires additional render pass without matte surface and ExtraTex render element (with Dirt map reflection occlusion) to extract the reflections.

Is this any closer to being fixed??? It is pretty crucial in most of my renderings right now.

Same here. Got a project where we could really use this. Thanks.

Yes, it is fixed now for the next nightlies tomorrow; if the tests are ok, the fixes will go into the stable builds sometime later in the week. Access to the stable builds you can get if you send an email to support@chaosgroup.com

                        Best regards,
