  • V-Ray For Blender 3.0 (Beta)

    Hello there!

    Here is the first public beta of V-Ray For Blender 3.0!

    The main goal of this release is node based workflow.

    Addon changes:
    • Script is now an addon and has to be activated (User Preferences... -> Addons -> Render -> V-Ray For Blender 3.0)
    • "Update Exporter" option now uses git so git has to be installed.
    • Path to V-Ray execulable could be now set in addon preferences panel.


    Additions:
    • Geometric data is now exported in compressed format result in lighter vrscene files and faster loading by V-Ray.
    • Possibility to export / render volumentric data (clouds, smoke, fire, etc). Render using Phoenix shaders.
    • Animation export is now exporting the data that actually changes (much much lighter vrscene in "Full Range" mode).
    • Node-based workflow. Here is some nodes layout description: https://github.com/bdancer/vb30/wiki/Nodes-Layout
    • Possibility to convert materials from vb25 and simple materials from Internal/Cycles (needs testing).
    • Node presets support
    • New preview with customizable preview file
    • Possiblity to customize defaults / draft settings
    • User setting are stored at: https://github.com/bdancer/vb30/wiki/Directory-Layout
    • Possibility to import materials from *.vrscene files


    Tools changes:
    • Proxy generator now supports more than 1 UV channel (as well as color channels).


    For V-Ray 3:
    • Max Ray intensity
    • Skin shader
    • Embree support

          Dear Andrey,

          This is great news... After my current proejct ends, I will be moving across to V3.0, and will be posting any bugs here.

          Will this version still use the 2.4 standalone, or will it only work with the new VRay 3?

            Rob, as usual it could work with any Standalone version (just some features are available only in VRay 3 like skin shader).

              Builds are alvailable and the nightlies.chaosgroup.com under "Blender For V-Ray" section.
              You could access nightlies.chaosgroup.com with your chaosgroup.com account user/password.
              If you don't have access please write to support@chaosgroup.com and your account will be activated for nightlies.

                      pixelwerkstudio, it's already implemented - check VRMat material node.

                      PrinterKiller, for interactive rendering - no, for final rendering yes - check "Realtime Engine" option under Render panel.
