  • simulation very slow...

    I am currently working on my own river scene and was very disappointed about the simulations performance on my dual Xeon 10 core machine...
    the simulations starts at 1,3 mio cells/sec and fall down to 0,2 mio cells/sec... to disable all preview options helps a little bit, but as more as splashes and foam generated, the sim speed becomes lower and lower... at the end at frame 800 there is only a simspeed of 0.1 mio cells/sec... attached you find a screenshot of the settings and the scene

    your b2b interaction is terrible big, even for thick foam like beer you need only 200-300, for a river 30 is enough. this parameter is very expensive, you have to keep it as low as possible.
    the cells/sec is not very informative for liquids, for your system the expected performance is about half mio liquid particles per sec.
