  • 3.5 Exposure difference??

I have just installed 3.5, opened a scene I was working on (3.4), changed nothing and just hit render.

The exposure in 3.5 is very different to the old 3.4 render

Can you clear the geometry from the scene and send it over? (just the camera and the lighting/environment - peter.matanov@chaosgroup.com)
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Do you use any color adjustments in VFB?

just a bit of added contrast, nothing over the top though

That's unrelated to what colorspace you are using though

It's just that the Contrast slider in Exposure rollout was applied linearly in 3.4, and now in 3.5 it is applied in sRGB space. So if you set contrast to 0, and compare your image to one rendered in 3.4 with contrast also set to 0, they should match 1:1. So in other words, Contrast slider in 3.5 does a bit different kind of color correction than what contrast did in 3.4

so that would explain the colour shift in the sky and the loss of texture detail in the concrete?

I dont have 3.4 installed anymore so sadly I can test right now

OK managed to render on a different machine with 3.4. yes I see what you mean now they are 1:1 without the contrast adjustment. I'll just have to eyeball 3.5 to match closer to what I had, not the end of the world At least I not understand what has happened

                    Thanks for the help
