  • Is it correct a behavior can't open 3ds Max file when I have no license?

Hi I'm Jesse I'm a beginner of Multiscatter also VRay and I have a problem with opening the file for preview.

I bought a resource from the site named TurboSquid.
    http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/...mations/882438

The author created the resource with 3dsMax 2010 and MultiScatter.
As the author mentioned that on the page after installing MultiScatter I could open the file correctly but I couldn't edit it when I don't have a license.
I opened it in 3ds Max 2014 there was no error messages but seemed partially opened. So here's my question.
Is it correct behavior that we can't see the preview correctly when I don't have license?
I consider to buy one it would be a little pressure for spending money only for preview though.
Can you answer my question. Thank you for reading this.

    Jesse.

    Hi,

I'm not sure about Multiscatter but you should be able to open 3DS Max files and render them using our V-Ray Demo builds.
What is the exact error messages you got?
What do you mean by "can't see the preview" ? Doesn't render or doesn't appear in the viewport?
Can you attach any screenshot ?

    Thank you.
