  • Render out wireframe pass from vray then apply color correction only based on this?

    Hi all,

Is it possible to Render out a wireframe pass and Rgb pass from vray then apply color correction to the rgb pass based on the colors in the wire pass? Ie, I have a grass element which is red on the wire pass and I want to apply color correction only to the grass.

    Thanks

    Neil

    Yes, it is possible.
What is necessary is to create a mask from the desired wireframe color and then apply that mask as a alpha channel to the layer you would like to color correct.
Here is a quick tutorial how you can do that.

    1.Copy the wireframe color:

2.From the Color Key option activate Primary Key and paste the color in the color slot:

The press A to show the alpha channel and tweak the parameter bellow the color slider to fine tweak the mask.

3.Select the other layer you would like to color correct and from Alpha Source option select the Wireframe element / Alpha Channel and Invert Source.

Make sure that the Alpha Mode is set to Normal for both layers, otherwise this setup won't work properly.
