  • Next GPU and 2 sided material opacity bug

Hi Chaos, found a bug with vray next gpu. When you have a vray 2 sided material (with a map in the opacity map slot) and you put the plane that it is applied to it infront of a glass object (in this case a waindow).... the opacity gets all messed up when viewing at different angles. When you rotate the glass window behind the leaf... it makes it worse.

Blue leaf is just a straight vray mat with an opacity map. Red leaf is the exact same material going through the vray 2 sided material. They should behave in exactly the same way but as you can see below the red leaf (vray 2 sided mat) has all sorts of problems with the opacity.

See below for some images that shows the bug, the materials and the scene. I have tried to attach the max file but I get an error... but you can easily set this up for yourselves to see the problem.

Anyway, for a lot of archviz scenes where you have a tree infront of a building with glass in it (ie all buildings) you get this error with the opacity maps. Please fix asap. Or let me know if we are doing something wrong....

    Hey Nick,

Please send me the scene at my mail.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

        Hello!

I have exactly the same issue. Did you find how to fix this bug?

        Thanks in advance

It's already fixed in the nightly builds and should be ok in the next official release.
