I haven’t tested it actually, good point. It does work with Krakatoa and PRT reader from Phoenix FD though. The different particle systems in Max all have different ways of accessing the data and it’s a real pain.

I hoped one of these other systems would be a bit more efficient for generating a lot of simple particles (like grass)

I see. I don't think any of those includes particle orientation though - just position and (if we are lucky) velocity. So not quite sure they can be used for scattering stuff.
