Vray NEXT - max crashes when stopping render

Hello,
i am getting total crashes of MAX 2019 when stopping rendering with Vray NEXT - scenes that had no issues in 3.6
No crash info, nothing it just goes down.
Forgot where i can find the dump file...

You can find the crash dump in your temporary folder - open Windows Explorer and type %temp% to go there - there should be a file called "3dsmax_minidump.dmp" - it will be extremely helpful if you can send it to me at vlado@chaosgroup.com

Other than that, does this happen on any scene, or a specific one?

I am only working on the one i got in the pipeline and i found this happens when i render with DR.
If i use only my PC its ok.

If this persists i am going to send this to you...although its a bit heavy.

Ok so with this particular scene it sraches at the end of the render when using DR as well.

We have this on another scene as well on a different workstation
But this time it did not bother to create minidump file...its not in the folder.

For your info, we have some Forrest Pack stuff in both scenes and we found out that in both scenes we have some bucket inconsistency as if one of the nodes was not having FP installed.
But i checked all comps and FP is present everywhere in its last iteration.

I have to check tomorrow if there is any problem in scene without FP.

Let me knwo what you can find out from the minidump and if its on FPs side i will post this on FP forum ???

The crash dump that you sent says it crashed in Forest Pack. I think there is a newer version of Forest Pack that you can download and try.

Sorry to jump in on this but i tried the latest FP 6.0.8b and crashed every time i hit render with IPR. Reverted back to 6.0.7b version and renders fine again. So just be careful

I have the problem with 6.08b too. But I know I am using a beta. So I was not worrying to much. Pbr seems to work though for me.
And the renderings finish and get saved. The job I sent to back burner with DR was ok.
I guess it will be fixed in fp final.

We are using the latest available FP the 6.0.8
I am going to have to write on the Itoo Forum about the bug.
If anyone wants to support me there i will put a link here once i do so.
Hopefully we will get a fix very soon as we have FP in every second scene and i really dont want to downgrade to 3.6 to render it.
Starting to really enjoy NEXT u see

FP 6.0.8 might not work with V-Ray Next beta versions. It was compiled for the official build.

But i am using Vray NEXT official build Peter and 6.0.8 built for it.
It happens on all our machines there is no way were doing something wrong.

oooops shoudl have held my breath.
It looks like one of the nodes runs 6.0.6 and its crashing the DR :-/
i guess it was too late when i updated ))

currently reinstalling everywhere.
its a weird problem as "programs" tab showed on all machines that 6.0.8. has been installed, yet some/one machine was in fact using 6.0.6 core
lets see, i will know in about hour or so
will keep you updated Vlado
