  • Shadow/light type falloff doesn't work?

    Hi

just curious is that type of falloff(shadow/light) never work in blender for vray? I tried multiple builds but it seems that none of them works!

Is there any workaround to get this working?

    Thanks

This has never worked; it should not actually appear as an option.

What kind of effect are you trying to achieve? There might be other ways to do it.

    Best regards,

      Hi,Vlado

Let's say if someone wants some hatch pattern to fill in shadow area, that guy might want to use this type of fall off as a mask to limit the hatch?
Wthout baking is there any better solution?

      Thanks

Maybe you can use the TexSurfaceLuminance texture? You can put it in a BRDFLight material or the self-illuminated color of a VRayMtl material.

It is cool to have this texture implemented in Vraycore.(If I remember right,it is used to analyze Scene Lighting in Vray Next for 3dsmax?)

The only problem now is it can not be used as mask or mix with other texture,is that a core limitation or I miss something?

          All the best!
