  • vray translucent rubber

Hello everyone. I wanted to see if anyone had a suggestion on how to achieve the translucent sole look for these shoes. Really like the shader and I want to apply it to a project I am working on. It looks like it contains translucency with small amount of SSS. Any ideas and help would be welcomed.

You could try the Vray material with very glossy refractions and blue tinted fog. Or you could try the Vray SSS shader. Sometimes it's a toss up which approach is better. If the material is quite transparent and requires refractions, the Vray material is usually the better way to go but will be expensive to render. If the surface is essentially non transparent but has a lot of subsurface, the SSS shader may be better.

      Hey Sony,

I will give that a shot again man. I tried the SSS shader but I was not getting the result I wanted. Maybe I didn't give it enough of an effort. I will go back to it and try both styles an post an update after these tests are done.
