  • warning: No material or BSDF specified for node

    Hi,

Currently having problems with a scene. Within the Maya UI, I can successfully render an image with DR slaves and everything is perfect.

However when I render as a batch (Render.exe -r vray), My slave machine is full of these errors:

[2012/Oct/16|10:48:36] warning: No material or BSDF specified for node "pine_6_03_low_poly_proxyRNlocator24|pine_6_03_low _poly_proxyRNgroup|pine_6_03_low_poly_proxy__pine_ 6_03_low_poly_proxy|pine_6_03_low_poly_proxy__pine _6_03_low_poly_proxyShape@node"

It seems the VRay exporter is losing all shader information for proxies. Everything else renders fine.

There are no missing assets as the scene is rendering perfectly from within Maya and all assets are on a shared server using UNC paths.

    Any ideas?

(Excuse the ugliness of the scene, it's very early WIP and draft settings :P)

Just to follow up, I've fixed the problem.

It seems turning on the option, in Maya, "Use Maya shader for V-Ray proxies", completely fixes the problem.

Maybe this has something to do with how V-Ray standalone is interpreting my shader assignments as what I'm doing with these trees is bringing them into my scene via referencing.

However I have only overridden the shader tree with the white trunk. The rest have been untouched.

It seems like it still could be a problem for others too so hopefully if anyone else has this, you can just turn on the Use Maya shader option.

Hm, that's odd - is it possible to get me a scene for this to vlado@chaosgroup.com ?

      Best regards,
      Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
