Viewport IPR

Is viewport IPR a feature we can hope to see coming in V-Ray for Modo, like the native renderer ?

No, I don't think it's even possible without maybe some extreme hacks.

I guess the ProRender integration didn't bring the hoped Render API improvements needed for this kind of feature ?

I have no idea, I haven't had time to look at what this new API is.

Does it even have a documentation page anywhere ?

I don't think you can run ProRender as a viewport renderer, so my guess is the new API doesn't have this ability.

Besides, changing to a new API is a huge time investment.
A lot of code will probably have to be rewritten, retested and new bugs will pop up that will have to be fixed.
