crash when attaching new VRayMtl while using progressive CUDA

  • crash when attaching new VRayMtl while using progressive CUDA

    So far every time I have switched the renderer to progressive CUDA, then attached a VrayMtl node to one of my geo nodes upstream while the viewer is attached to teh VRayRender node, Nuke has crashed.
    Can somebody verify that please?
    Nuke 11.1v3 on Centos 7

      I don't see anything in the terminal output, it just crashes with a core dump.
      Oh, I forgot, this is with a GTX 1080ti in case it matters.

        Do you have the possibility to test that under GDB and let me know the callstack when this happens ?
        Edit: Does it only happen in CUDA mode ? Not in Progressive CPU mode ?

          Hi Christophe,

          it does happen with progressive CPU as well. My steps that always lead to a crash (test scene attached):
          1. set VrayRenderer to progressive of some sort
          2. connect the viewer
          3. while vray is updating the viewer, attach the material to the sphere
          4. if Nuke hasn't crashed yet while vray is updating, detach the material again
          5. repeat steps 4+5, Nuke will crash eventually

          I'm happy to to run GDB is you can give me some instructions for how to do that.

            Hi Frank,
            You won't need to run gdb on your end as I managed to reproduce this random crash.
            Let me some time to look into it and see how to fix it.

                The fix will be available in tomorrow's nightly build (ref 3.71.02)
