  • A few bugs in 3.6

    Enjoying my time with 3.6 but still a few annoyances;

-The image file type is not retained. It always default back to PNG
-If I open a file that was created with VfR 2 and there was some custom channels (like for a light that shows as a render element), there's no way to get rid of it.
-Applying materials to layers is still problematic within the V-Ray Asset Editor. I see that some work was done there but some layers are not visible when I have more than about 25
    -more to come!

V-Ray saves files as ''name.effectsResult.png'' ex: i save my render like ''1.png'' but V-Ray changes it like ''1.effectsResult.png'' is this a bug or a changable thing in settings?

        Hi kmlkarablt,

V-Ray saves all the render elements in the scene together with your beauty image to suffixed files on disk (the suffix is the element name).
Even if you don't have elements set up V-Ray 3.6 might add the effectsResult one to display the denoiser and lens effects result.
This leads to the name.effectsResult.png that you see on disk.
You should be able to find the original rgb color channel saved in the same location without any suffix: name.png

        I hope that helps,

        Regards,
        Konsatntin

Even when the render is finished, I can't scroll up in the "V-Ray Progress Window", it keeps going to the bottom.

This is a known issue. Left-clicking within the Progress window scrolls it down to the bottom. Our developers are aware of it and working toward a solution.
You should still be able to use Ctrl+A to select the whole log and paste it in a .txt file.

            Kind regards,
            Peter

The "Safe Frame" toggle does not work on my computer. It shows something but it's not following the proportions of the image output selected.

                Hi,

Regarding the Safe Frame, please go to Rhino's Document Properties > Render and in the 'Resolution' section, select 'Custom'

                  Yes, that works, thanks.
You should find a way to enable this when we toggle Safe Frame in V-Ray's settings.
