  • I have a file that crashes Rhino when opening it with V-Ray enabled

I can send it to support but it's 60mb when zipped.

The problem was a V-Ray proxy that was inserted multiple time as a Rhino block in the file.
I disabled V-Ray, re-started Rhino, opened the file, got rid of the block and then the file opened with V-Ray enabled without crashing. Is it a problem with proxies within linked blocks? A problem with this proxy?
    Chaos should look into this.

      Hello, Marc,

Do you happen to know which version of V-Ray for Rhino has been used when the block containing the proxy was created and inserted in the project?
In case you haven't sent the scene already, please do so through V-Ray > Pack Project and then using a file-sharing service of your choice. You can direct it either at support@chaosgroup.com (be sure to mention this forum thread) or as a forum PM to me.
The cause may be either the specific .vrmesh used or faulty data migration from a previous version. I was not able to reproduce the crash in our office environment.

      Kind regards,
      Peter

        Hello Peter,
The file was created with V-Ray 2. I PMed you a link to the file.
It's the Rhino file and the vrmesh, I can't "V-Ray > Pack Project" since Rhino crashes if V-Ray is enabled...
