  • Laggy move with Shift override of Ortho and V-Ray

In Rhino if you are attempting to move a large number of objects (say a 100x100 array of rectangular curves), turn on Ortho, select your objects, Move, pick a point to move from, then hold down shift to override the Ortho and move the mouse around a fair amount. Over here, the move starts lagging well behind the cursor. The same move with Ortho off is perfectly fine. Load protect V-Ray and try again, the lagging goes away when using Shift to override Ortho.

    V-Ray 6 3.60.02

Thank you for pointing this out!
The problem actually affects all modifier keys. Our dev team will look into it.
As a workaround for toggling Ortho mode, use F8 instead of holding down the Shift key.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

has this been fixed already? it is a very annoying bug that makes working in Rhino a real pain. I would really appreciate if this could be solved with a hot fix. I use alt a lot to temporarily disable Osnap and even moving a single curve in an otherwise empty document becomes slow

One of our developers is currently working on it as well as a couple of related issues. Will post again when a solid solution can be offered.

        Kind regards,
        Peter
