  • V-Ray Distance Texture

    Hey everyone!

I was trying to recreate this amazing tutorial by Bernand Benoit (http://bertrand-benoit.com/blog/naka...road-tutorial/) and was wondering if there was something I can do in Rhino to replicate the Vray Distance Texture he uses to create the lighter areas in roads near the curbs. In Max apparently the Vray Distance Texture uses a geometry to indicate in which way the distance map should be applied.

I considered using a Falloff map, but it only lets me specify a vector in the Distance Blend type.

    Is there another way?

    Thanks

Also, in the same tutorial he uses a composite material, and get vaious blending modes (similar to photoshop layers). Is this a 3dsMax thing?

I was able to create something similar, with a grid map (using 0 as width in a direction) in a different mapping channel. But still not perfect, and is not a suitable solution for a larger more complex scene.

      Here is what I achieved.
