  • Swarm not working with 3.60.01

    Hey,

I'm trailing the new version before deploying out to the rest of the company. (have to say i'm loving some of the changes, the file path editor has been a godsend)

However I've had some issues rendering with Swarm v1.4.1.

    We are running Sketchup 2017 v17.2.2555 64 Bit, Vray v 3.60.01.

I read in the patch notes that swarm doesn't work with 3.5x builds. Is this a typo and should say 3.6? And if so do we have an estimate on when it will be working?

    Regards

    Matt

    Hello,

The patch note you mentioned, "(*) 3.5x builds do not work with swarm 1.4.1", is actually a bug already fixed and automatically reported in the v3.6 change log.
Swarm version (1.4.1) remains the same in both V-Ray 3.4 and 3.6. It should be behaving the same way as before.
Could you please send an email at support@chaosgroup.com with further info about the issue - are render nodes not visible, or visible and not engaging? Or perhaps engaging, but not actually rendering? Any detailed info, such as render node logs (https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...lMenuItems-Log) would be appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

      Hey Peter.

I have sent across an email as requested but have yet to hear back from anyone in regards to the issue.

I'm eager to get this version out to our designers as some of the features are fantastic. But without swarm its of little use.

      Regards

      Matt

Thank you Peter for your help

Even though i had Visual C++ Redistributable 2015 installed it must have been slightly out of date.

I have updated it on our swarm machines and now appears to be rendering as intended.

Here is the link peter supplied me to the download in case anyone else runs into the problem.
