  • Vray 3.6 clean install - Not Functioning until I installed 3.4

Just did a clean install of windows (FCU 1709 I believe). Installed sketchup 2017 and 3.6 - however, whenever I hit any vray button, it would bugsplat out and crash. Nothing would fix it. Uninstalled 3.6, installed 3.4 - worked. Installed 3.6 on top, and now its working. I'm thinking there is a shared library that isn't included in 3.6 that's causing the issue - some C++ distro stuff maybe? Again, brand spanking new windows install and literally nothing else on the machine.

    Apologies for the delayed reply!
Some users with similar issue reported installing https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=48145 solved it for them.
Could you please give it a try and report back?
Also interested in hearing whether there is anything logged in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Chaos Group\V-Ray for SketchUp\VRayForSketchUp.log after producing the bugsplat.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

Ok, good to know. I can't duplicate the problem because I fixed it by installing 3.4 and then 3.6 on top again. I have another workstation coming in the next few weeks, which should have a clean install on it, so I will try to duplicate the missing distributable issue and gather logs if it bug splats out.

      Thanks!
