  • GPU render tantalizingly slow in progressive even with Nvidia gtx 1080 TI.

When choosing GPU render it defaults to progessive. Which is 10 times slower than CPU render will be. On my ryzen 1950 the CPU render is way faster than on i7, but the nvidia 108ti defaults to progressive and then takes ages to complete with a cpmparable result. How does one override this setting to hybrid without progressive?

    Hello,

GPU renders only in Progressive mode. On CPU there shouldn't be any noticeable difference in render time between Progressive on/off.

Does your issue occur only when rendering specific scenes? Are you using one of the default quality presets or a custom setup?
You can test both your CPU and GPU render capabilities at https://www.chaosgroup.com/vray/benchmark . Simply perform the tests and then you can compare your results with those of other users with the same hardware. Let us know if there are any discrepancies between results?
Having a sample scene with your settings which we can investigate will also be appreciated!

    Kind regards,
    Peter

      Hi Peter.
Shame GPU renders only in progressive. As you mention there should be no difference I dare to disagree.
Ill send you a mail through support as i find more than one issue / question here.

      Kind regards,
