Hi

I am trying to create a material using procedural tiles. I want to see a preview in the viewport, but it will only show the material helper image, as below.



The texture renders fine, but will only display the helper texture in the viewport.

Is there any way to force SU to show procedural materials in the viewport?

Hi Corey,

There is no way for SketchUp to visualize procedural textures.
We have added the helper texture to let you manipulate UVs (texture placement) even when a procedural is used.

We will explore different possibilities for making this better in the future but even if can make an improvement it'll be limited.

I've been using the 'Viewport Render' feature to visualize the procedural materials
