  • Materials aren't synchronizing (SU2018, mac)

    Hello,
I imported a collada file with simple materials (colors only). The materials did show up in SU, but not in the asset manager. When I pick materials from the standard SU Library they do appear in the asset manager. Also when I clicked on the "clean up materials" button, SU crashed... I'm reverting back to 3.60.01 for now...

    Hello,

Would you mind sharing the collada file? Also, could you open the ruby console, try to reproduce the issue and then share the output with us.
There is no special handling of collada files on our side. You might want to try the "fix model" Sketchup button before activating the scene with V-Ray.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

When I open the ruby console after opening SU, the following text appears over and over again... I don't know if that is good?
I don't see any new lines of text when I import the Collada .dae file. I will try it with plugins turn off (only leaving v-ray on).

edit: After restarting I don't get this message anymore. Even when all plugins are disabled the materials won't come through. This seems to occur only when I open SU and a new document is opened for the first time. When I close the startupdocument and start a new document (makes sense?) the import seems to be OK and the materials are generated.

        Hello again,
The issue you reported appears to affect all .dae file imports. It occurs whenever a file is imported after using V-Ray. If you have not yet activated V-Ray by clicking on its toolbar, you should be able to import a .dae properly. This is just a temporary solution. The cause may be related to a SketchUp bug so right now I cannot state any ETA on a solution.
        Thank you for your report!

        Kind regards,
        Peter
