  • vrscene scene materials can't be overwritten?

    Hi

Is there a way to override the materials on vrscene objects when wanting to make a white render using the material override option?

The VRayScene object is self-contained and its materials cannot be modified or overridden. You if you have the source scene you can use a .vrmesh file as a temporary workaround.
A fix will be included in the next update.

    Kind regards,

      Hi Peter,

I know this is an older post but have there been any updates to this? I basically need to override the materials in a certain render pass (Maya) with a single material.

      Thanks!

There is a task logged about this which is currently pending development. I'm afraid I cannot yet confirm whether it will be implemented in the upcoming Update 2 or later on.

        Kind regards,
        Peter

          Hi guys,

V-Ray Next for SketchUp, update 2 is released.
The global material override now affects Proxy Scene assets (vrscenes).
There is also a way to disable that behavior for backwards compatibility reasons.

          Regrads,
          Konstantin
