  • verion 3.6- cant get fire to be emmisive without a white backgroung

HI, I have a material of fire which is flames in a png format with translucent background.
when I put emissive layer with bitmap texture on them the translucent part become white in render.
    how can I solve it?

    thanks!

Try creating and using an alpha map instead of using the alpha channel in the png. It used to work that way in VfSU 1.5, but I haven't tested it since then!

      Hi,

You should be able to achieve the desired result using the demonstrated workflow:

        thanks for the video!
That is a very long workflow-
In version 2 it wasnt that complicated, just mark "use color texture as transparency" and that's it.. if I remember correctly.

isn't there a way to make the process shorter?

          Hi inbelet,

I don't think that this option (use color texture as transparency) was ever available for the Emissive layer.
It was and still is an option of the Diffuse material layer.

the easiest way to make this work is to save out the image alpha as a separate file and load it separately as transparency of the emissive layer.
What Georgi has demonstrated is a way to do it without using a second file.

We will do our best to make this process simpler in the future.

          Regards,
          Konstantin
