Importing JPEG as image = crash

Importing a JPEG as an image and not a texture repeatedly crashing SU - again have to uninstall to be productive.

We were not able to produce the issue in our office environment and have so far received no similar bug reports.

What OS and version of SketchUp are you using?
Does the issue occur:
- only with specific image files or in specific projects?
- when using only V-Ray and no other 3rd-party plugins, or when using no plugins at all?
- upon drag&dropping a .jpg file into any Asset Editor map slot?

Providing the requested info as well as a step-by-step description (in case it is not straightforward) would help us with the investigation of this problem.
