  • render channels with GPU

So I hate to ask, but I had hoped this was something that would be updated with the 3.6 release. I get a black MaterialID channel when I use GPU for my render engine (not interactive. also tested with CPU and I get a normal MatID channel) Is this a V-Ray limitation or something that's not implemented in V4SU? My specific situation is that I have 2x 1070 cards that can render very quickly on my workstation. If I try DR, with only 1 node license, my render times are much slower. I had hoped that GPU rendering would be able to meet my needs, but without all the render channels, it is limiting my ability to use it for production. Is there any way around this? Thanks!

MaterialID is not yet supported on CUDA engine in V-Ray's core.
For a list of supported features, go to:
    https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...RenderElements
    https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...portedFeatures

As a workaround, depending on the project, you could use an ExtraTex render element with slotted Multi-Sub texture. Alternatively, use the Diffuse render element.

    Kind regards,
