  • 【Feature request】Sequenced bitmap support

    Hi

I don't know how many users here are interested in making animation with Vray for Sketchup and Vray for Rhino.

Just wonder is this feature I request is popular or not.

What I want to request is something looks interesting(just hope it is also an intersting topic for you)

For example,I have an image sequence like below

If Vray can load sequenced bitmap, then users can use it to control the lighting of traffic light

It could also be used for billboard like this

And it can be used as light texture to simulate the process of light turning on.

It will comes very handy when doing some diagram animation for lots of studios or companies not only for Sketchup users, but also for Rhino users.

There are aleady some animation control for noise texture, is that possible to take a step forward to implement sequence bitmap support?

    All the best!

    Hello, Shiyan,
    Thank you for your request!
This would be easy to implement. The team will discuss the possible benefits of this feature for our user base.
We may implement it in one of the next updates.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

Hi,I have a suggestion if dev team consider implementing this feature.

Sketchup and Rhino lacks animation function,(There is bongo for Rhino and Animator for Sketchup but they are both non-native 3rd party plugin). We can not open or closed a Vray-light by keyframing.

But it will comes really simple when using bitmap to control the light intensity(white for light_on and black for light_off)

What I am suggesting is we can setup color texture in sequenced texture,it might be tedious to understand what I mean,so I make an image explanning the concept

In sequenced texture, it can read pre-made sequenced file(from photoshop, blender or etc) or it can composite lots of textures(edges toons or curvature temperature etc) into a sequenced texture.

It will expand lots of possibilities, usecases like:

      1. users want to change color to emphasize massing of a building

2.users want to emphasize an important flown line(It might be very handy for Rhino user coz they have grasshopper which can easily keyframe each face by node)
